To set up a new connection on your Windows 2000 operating system, firstly go to the Control Panel. Then, double click on the "Network and Dial-up Connections" icon.

Next, double click on "Make New Connection"
This will take you to the Network Connection Wizard. Click Next to begin the wizard.

Select "Dial-up to the Internet" and click Next.

Select "I want to setup my Internet connection manualy, or I want to connect through a local area network(LAN)." Click Next.

Select "I connect through a phone line and a modem" and click Next.

Next, enter the telephone number as 0198333433 . You do not need to enter an area code. Leave "Use area code and dialing rules" Unticked. Next. click Advanced.

The Advanced Connection Properties Dialog should look like the one below. Make sure everything appears the same, then click Addresses.

Set the primary DNS to 203.30.224.14 and click OK.

This will take you back to the Internet Connection Wizard. Click Next to continue.

Now enter your username and password in which you specified upon signup. Please make sure the username and password are written in lower case, and that there are no spaces in either field. After you have entered your username and password, please click on Next.

Type in the connection name as F1. Click Next.

Select Yes and click Next.

Enter your display name. This is the name in which comes up as the "Sender Name" when you send an E-mail. It can be anything you like, however, your first and last name is reccomended. Once this has been entered. click Next to continue.

Now enter your e-mail address. This will be your username followed by @f1.net.au. Once this is entered, click Next.

Now for the mail server settings. The first box should have POP3 automatically selected in it. If not, select it. Next, enter the incoming mail server. This is mail.f1.net.au - please make sure there are no spaces before, during or after this address. Then, enter the outgoing mail server which is smtp.f1.net.au - once again make sure there are no spaces. Then click Next to continue.

Now enter your username and password. The username should be one word only - not your e-mail address. The same as your dial-up username, please make sure you do not enter anything such as "@f1.net.au" after the username and do not put any spaces before, during or after the username. Once this is one, click Next.

You have now successfully set up your dial-up internet account and e-mail address. Click Finish to exit.
