1. To set up your connection, first double click on the My Computer icon on the top-left of your screen. An icon called Dial-up Networking will appear. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon.
2. If a window should appear informing you that Dial-Up Networking is not installed at this point, just press the Install button.

3. NT will ask you where to get your NT install files. Generally this means you need to insert your NT install CD and type in the path.

4. After installing the files needed to run Dial Up Networking (also referred to as Remote Access Service, or RAS, in parts of the installation) it will check for Modems to use. If you haven't already installed a modem a dialog box will appear asking you if it can set one up. Press Yes. If you already have a modem set it, go to step 8.

5. An Install New Modem Wizard will appear. Tick the "Don't detect my modem" box and then click Next .
6. A list of modems will appear. The brand of modem is on the left side, and when you choose it a list of the models are on the right side. If you make and model are not chosen, choose Standard Modem Types, and then choose the speed of your modem. Click Next.

7. NT will then ask you which port the modem is installed on, just click on the port from the list and press Next .
8. All being well, your modem will now be listed as RAS able. Click OK .

9. You are halfway there! NT will now need to reboot for the RAS to work. Choose Restart .

10. Once your machine has rebooted, go to My Computer and then double click on Dial-up Networking as you did in step 1. NT will tell you that your phone book is empty and that clicking OK will add a new entry. Click OK.

11. A wizard will appear. Tell it that you know all your settings and then click Finish. A tabbed box will appear similar to the below. Under the Basic tab you will need to set the following settings:
Entry Name: F1
Comment: (unimportant, set to whatever you want)
Phone Number: 0198333433
Dial Using: (choose your modem)

12. If you can dial more than one number, click on the Alternates button. This will allow you to add more than one number which it will rotate between when dialing. Once you have added all the numbers, click OK.

13. Choose the Server tab. Ensure the TCP/IP network protocol is ticked, and that botch software compression and LCP extensions are ticked.
14. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button. Make sure the radio buttons are set to Server assigned IP address, and Specify name server addresses. You will then need to set the following:
Primary DNS: 203.30.224.14
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Primary WINS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary WINS: 0.0.0.0

15. Go to the Script tab. Select None.
16. Go to the Security tab. Select "accept any authentication, including cleartext". Once that is done, click OK at the bottom.

17. Your connection is now set up correctly. You can now click on the Dial button to connect.

18. For security reasons, NT will now need your F1 username and password in order to connect. Enter these and leave the domain field blank. Once this is done, click OK.
